Marian Briggs

As leader of the Padilla Speer Beardsley corporate and investor relations practice, Marian directs strategic development and implementation of programs to influence key constituents - Wall Street, venture capitalists, institutional investors and analysts, employees, customers and the media.
Marian puts 25 years of experience in corporate communications to work for her clients, which
include health-care companies; consumer-products manufacturers; computer, technology and emerging growth companies; and financial services firms. She has counseled a variety of clients in crisis situations, as well as on the science of gaining visibility in the financial, business and trade communities.
Prior to joining the firm in 1985, Marian worked for Conwed Corp. in several promotional services and investor relations management positions. She began her career as editor of a trade journal.
Marian holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Marquette University. She is a member of
the Senior Roundtable of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), past president of the
Twin Cities NIRI chapter, and currently serves as a board member in charge of the mentoring
program. In addition, Marian is a strategic partner with the Financial Executives International
Twin Cities chapter, and regularly speaks to groups on investor relations trends and issues.
An active promoter of the Greater Twin Cities United Way, she formerly served on the board of
directors of Second Harvest Heartland. She is a past recipient of the Distinguished Volunteer
Leadership Award from the March of Dimes.
